From November 5-8, 2009, our annual FESTIVAL OF NEW SPANISH CINEMA (FNSC) will premiere at PACIFIC FILM ARCHIVE,while presenting a special around-the-clock screening online. The FNSC tour presents the finest offbeat, independent and artistically-inspired Spanish films from all genres: narrative, experimental, and animation.
And the festival is about more than the screenings alone. Participate in panel discussions and Q&A sessions with David Planell (The Shame). There are also short films available online, cutting-edge media exhibits, and of course, our popular opening night party with good movies, and wine offered by Freixenet.
Last but not least, as a new offering this year and to precede each feature, we present Teaserland: an entertaining initiative featuring fake movie trailers by well-known directors such as Isabel Coixet (Elegy, The Secret Life of Words), Jaume Balaguero (Rec), and J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage), alongside up-and-coming filmmakers.
Have a look and see when we’re coming your way! We’ll be sure to bring the charm and hospitality, and share our Spanish extravaganza with you.
