ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

DESCRIPTION

As we embark on a period of growth, PRAGDA is looking for talented film lovers to join our team.

A leading distributor of Latin American, Spanish, and Latinx cinema, PRAGDA works with the finest contemporary documentaries and features produced each year. Our films are inspiring, challenging, and entertaining. They cover a wide array of the region’s hottest topics, including the global economy, DACA, immigration and exile, feminism, education, international politics, and more.

The ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT will report directly to the Managing Director and assist them in various tasks related to the distribution, marketing, and sale of Pragda’s film catalog and initiatives. Additional support to other team members may be included as needed.

The ideal candidate will be interested in Spanish and Latin American films and strongly committed to bringing these cinemas to the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the creation and management of new acquisition materials.
  • Assist with the development of all marketing and promotional materials needed for the marketing of Pragda’s films, the Spanish Film Club program, Pragda STREAM, etc.
  • Assist in managing all social media accounts, including both the creation of a calendar of scheduled posts and daily reactions and interactions with posts relevant to Pragda. Platforms include but are not limited to Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
  • Assist with the development and management of partnerships and alliances to increase the visibility of our brand, titles, and filmmakers.
  • Assist with the management of Pragda’s overall presence online, including PRAGDA website Pragda STREAM content updates.
  • Assist with the development of release strategies for acquired films and programs and create necessary materials and web pages.
  • Assist with the creation of newsletters and marketing mailing campaigns and execute them using direct mailing services (Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc.).
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support including but not limited to maintaining the calendar, arranging conference calls, answering emails, etc.
  • Manage databases (create, update, and maintain email lists in their various locations)
  • Research sales lead for Pragda’s films and programs.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of direct email campaigns to prospected leads using direct mailing services
  • Fulfill film license purchases by communicating with clients, creating invoices, and sending materials
  • Update invoice payment status and follow up with clients when needed.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years of work experience in administration.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
  • Dependable
  • Excellent understanding and management of social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team, as well as independently.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills – must be meticulous and well-organized.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Self-starter, driven, efficient, curious, and resourceful.
  • Self-directed, tactful, and diplomatic with a clear, courteous, and professional manner.
  • High computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Adobe), and the ability to learn and manage new software and platforms quickly if unfamiliar (Hunter, Constant Contact, Canva, WordPress, FileMaker, Dropbox, Trello, Hootsuite, etc.)

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • High graphic design and video software skills for the creation of social media assets
  • Experience in a film distribution company setting
  • Knowledge of the film educational market

BENEFITS AND CONDITIONS

  • Location: This is a 100% remote position.
  • Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week with a fixed schedule to be agreed upon depending on the candidate’s location, but most likely consistent with U.S. ET.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, as a freelance contractor.
  • Growth: Potential to gain more job responsibilities and add hours in the future for the right candidate.
