Daniela Seggiaro is a screenwriter and film director from Salta, Argentina, and a graduate in Image and Sound Design from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). In 2012, she premiered her debut feature film Nosilatiaj. La belleza (Vista Sur Films) received numerous international awards, including the FIPRESCI Prize, the Silver Montgolfière at the Festival des 3 Continents in Nantes, and the Grand Prix Hassan II at the Morocco International Festival of Independent Cinema, among others.
Her second feature, Husek (Vista Sur Films – Maravillacine), was shot in Salta at the end of 2019 and had its world premiere in the international competition at FID Marseille 2021, where it received the Jury Award. The film’s national premiere took place at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, followed by screenings at renowned festivals such as Rencontres Toulouse, Ischia Film Festival, BioBioCine, and First Look Film Festival (NYC), among others.
Her most recent project, Our Demand (Maravillacine), continues to explore themes central to her work — the complex encounters and misunderstandings between Indigenous and Western or Creole worlds — as a space to reflect on contemporary identities and cultural coexistence.
