Lola Contreras Bustamante is a Chilean filmmaker and distributor based in Santiago. Her short film Violeta (2018) screened at numerous international film festivals and marked the beginning of her work in feminist and dystopian storytelling.
Her feature debut, Where the Sky Touches the Earth (2024), is a Chilean dystopian drama about a nomadic community of women pursued by an oppressive state. Produced by Cine UDD, the film has toured Chilean cinemas and festivals, positioning her as one of the emerging voices of Latin American genre cinema.
Alongside her directing, Contreras works in distribution through her company La Distribución and in the circulation team at Cine UDD, focusing on the promotion of student and independent films. She has also been selected for initiatives such as Locarno Industry Academy Chile, which support new professionals in programming, circulation and film sales.
