Iria Gómez Concheiro was born in Mexico City in 1979. Her short film Dime lo que sientes, won the Ariel Award for Best Fiction Short Film. Asalto al cine (The Cinema Hold Up), her first feature, won the Cine Cinéma Award from the Films in Progress section at the Rencontres Cinéma d’Amérique Latine in Toulouse, followed by the Films in Progress Casa de América Award at San Sebastian Festival’s 58th edition. Prior to this, she competed in the Sundance Film Festival and won the Best First Film Award at the Guadalajara Festival.
