Marcos Díaz Sosa is a Cuban playwright, screenwriter, and filmmaker. He graduated from the High Institute of Art (Cuba) and the International Film and TV School of San Antonio.

As a playwright and theater director, Díaz Sosa collaborated with the State Theater of Jena, Germany, from 2013 to 2018. His plays El mal gusto (2013), Los sementales (2015), and Titanic (2018) premiered there.

As a filmmaker, Díaz Sosa has written and directed several short films. Fenómenos naturales premiered at the 2016 Guadalajara Film Festival and won Best Short Film at the 2018 Festival Cine Latinoamericano de La Plata; Rocaman (2017); and El niño de goma (2021), which premiered at Bogoshorts.

Adapted from his short film, Natural Phenomena (Fenómenos Naturales, 2024) is his first narrative feature film. The film was selected as part of the official competition of the 39th International Film Festival in Guadalajara, where it competed for the Best Ibero-American Fiction Feature Film Award.
