Notes on the Film
“As a filmmaker, I’ve always been drawn to stories that reveal the invisible threads connecting people, territory, and meaning. Magical Map of Chile was born from a simple yet powerful question: What lies beneath the landscapes we take for granted?
This documentary series is my personal and artistic journey through Chile’s ancestral, mystical, and natural heritage. It’s a search for the layers of memory, belief, and energy that inhabit forests, deserts, stones, and rituals—elements that often escape conventional narratives about our country.
Rather than approaching these themes with a scientific or esoteric lens, I chose to explore them through wonder, visual poetry, and human encounters. Each episode is a portal into places and people where magic is not illusion, but a way of seeing and belonging—a cultural code that survives in silence, ceremony, and story.
Creating this series was also an invitation to slow down, to listen, and to feel. In a fast-paced world, Magical Map of Chile offers a contemplative space where beauty and mystery coexist. It is not an answer, but a question with many echoes.
I hope viewers from all over the world can connect with this journey—not only to discover Chile, but to reflect on the unseen dimensions of their own territories and traditions.”
