Francesc Relea began working for El Periódico de Cataluña and later joined the team of the programme 30 Minuts de Televisió de Catalunya, reporting on different conflicts, such as the Balkan War. He also worked for the daily El País, for which he was the correspondent in Argentina, with coverage for the Southern Cone, and in Mexico, also covering Central America and the Caribbean from 1998 to 2008.
