Based on an incredible true story, Cortés’s film is about the loyalty and the bonds of the members of a family when the head, played by Lluís Homar, invites his son (Daniel Brühl) to perform the trick he has discovered to beat a casino – legally and capitalizing on the roulette wheel’s imperfections. With a witty script and very fine performances by the cast, Cortés manages to keep the tension high throughout this action-comedy-love film.
About the Director
Eduard Cortés has received two Goya nominations, as the director of La Vida de Nadie (2002) and as the screenwriter of Otros Días Vendrán (2005). Ingrid (2009) and Winning Streak (2011), winner of the Best Editing Award at the Malaga Festival, complete his filmography.
