Felipe Holguín Caro is a Colombian, award-winning film writer/director. He also has experience in casting, first assistant direction, production, and cinematography. Holguín Caro has worked in Bogotá, NYC, São Paulo, and LA. He currently resides in Cartagena, Colombia. He’s the co-founder and executive director of Cumbia Films.

Holguín Caro received awards at different film festivals for his short films Mañana (2009), La Suerte del Salao (2017), and La Cachera (2019). Caro is also a casting Director and associate producer of El Piedra (2019), a film pre-selected by Colombia for the Oscar and Goya awards.
Caro wrote and directed two documentary films, Transforming Realities (2015) and Dream Creators (2015). He has also directed music videos for Salt Cathedral (Ultra Music), Lao Ra (Sony Music), Kali Uchis (Sony UK), Petrona Martínez, and Palenke Soultribe, among others. He also produced Ricky Martin’s music video La Mordidita, season 28th of The Amazing Race by CBS, and the music video Rumbera by Systema Solar. During his time in Los Angeles, he directed commercial spots for clients such as Ford, Verizon, Heineken, Hershey’s, Sofitel, Hilton, Novus Civitas, Rep/Gray, among others.
La Suprema (2023), his debut feature film, premiered at TIFF. It won the Coral Post award in La Havana Film Festival and the Silver Colón Audience Award at the Huelva Film Festival.
