Gil Baroni is a writer, director, and producer born in Guarapuava, Brazil. His filmography approaches themes surrounding human rights issues, especially minority empowerment, gender equity, the LGBTQI+ universe, and social class struggle.

Co-owner of Beija Flor Filmes, Gil conceptualized his production company to aggregate projects from other directors who work on similar themes, especially LGBTQI+ films. He has produced several short films that have screened at a total of 172 international festivals, won 35 awards, and received eight special mentions. He has also taught production and directing at the FAP/UNESPAR – Parana Arts College.
His film Alice Junior (2019) follows a transsexual teen hoping for her first kiss, has been a box office success in Brazil.
