From small associations to large industrial cooperatives, Solidarity Planet travels throughout Brazil (from Rio Grande do Sul, and Mato Grosso do Sul, to Bahia, Ceará, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Minas Gerais) to show solidarity economy enterprises in the city and in the countryside.

The 13-episode series proves that a solidarity economy, public policies, and alternative management strategies are possible for a sustainable world. Each episode deals with a theme related to this mode of production and social organization and presents successful experiences, public policies, and alternative management strategies to the capitalist model.

About the Director
Renato Tapajós was born in Belém, Brazil in 1943. Graduated in Social Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo in 1968. Filmmaker and writer, he has directed short, medium, and feature films. He has won awards at international festivals (Leipzig, Oberhausen, and Havana) and national events (Salvador Film and Video Days).

Among his film productions, the series made for the Metalworkers Union of São Bernardo do Campo and Diadema: Acidente de Trabalho, Greve de Março, Teatro Operário y Linha de Montagem, stand out. He has also directed more than 120 videos, including cultural productions, entertainment, educational, and institutional videos.
