OUR DEMAND / DANIELA SEGGIARO / ARGENTINA / 80 MIN
In 1991, a young Wíchi man picked up a Hi8 video camera and began documenting life in his indigenous community. Together with his neighbors, he filmed scenes from daily life, archaeological explorations, and even the arrival of a judge, footage that became crucial evidence in a land rights case the Wichí had been fighting since 1986. Directed by Daniela Seggiaro, this documentary reveals how Indigenous protagonists communicate the significance of the forest, their language, and communal life to the white world.
